Multi-instrumentiste dévoué né à Los Angeles, Kamasi Washington a la musique dans le sang. Tout jeune, il découvre le jazz et reçoit son premier saxophone à 13 ans. Un coup de foudre, qui permet à son génie de se révéler. Il étudie ensuite l’ethnomusicologie et accompagne de nombreux artistes, même sur d’autres styles ; il suivra notamment Snoop Dogg en tournée. Mais sa personnalité créatrice se dévoile pleinement grâce à son projet solo, dans lequel il évolue depuis 2015.

As a dedicated multi-instrumentalist born in Los Angeles, Kamasi Washington has music in his blood. He discovered jazz at an early age and received his first saxophone at 13. It was love at first sight, allowing his genius to reveal itself. He went on to study ethnomusicology and accompanied many artists, even in other styles, including Snoop Dogg on tour. But his creative personality is fully revealed thanks to his solo project, in which he has been evolving since 2015.
