ZW Plenum

Many say ZW is subsidised, ‘sponsored by the city’ - lets clear that out for once: within the public announcement of the 1000qm2 we now call ZW was a renovation contribution of 500’000.-. The renovation had to fulfil all regulations applying to restaurants, bars and clubs. An immense amount of cheap or free labour was organised, a lot of cheap material was reused to achieve a legally sound renovation. On top of that and after receiving the approval, the association Zentralwäscherei made clear that we can only fulfil the usage agreement, if we do not have to pay rent. The usage agreement states that these rooms have to run un-commercially. Sustaining an un-commercial cultural space without sponsoring from brands or banks is a really difficult task. Especially if you want a lot, like ZW does: good employment, equal payment, affordable entrance and gastronomy, extensive opening hours and a program focusing more on empowerment, access and equity over revenue. ZW finances itself to 85%, compared to traditional and more established spaces with a much smaller degree of self-financing. Overall we believe ZW is a big success. It provides a space for cultural engagement on all levels of professionality, it provides people with a workplace, it is a hub to meet and celebrate, to cry, be angry, get organised and multiply.

AQUA:TOFANA is no longer an unknown figure in the local rap scene - with uncompromisingly provocative and nasty lines, AQUA:TOFANA has already made it onto “Bounce” SRF and SRF Kulturplatz. Queer-feminist rap against the patriarchy, against toxic masculinity and for fluidity in gender expression. AQUA:TOFANA has found a way to be activist through music. This is how the feminist art figure, AQUA:TOFANA, came into being. A figure that gets attention and can be activist without exposing the person behind the mask. On June 14, 2024, AQUA:TOFANA released her debut EP “giftig” with the hit singles “FLÜSSIG”, “NÜMM” and six other introspective, activist, honest tracks. In fall 2024, AQUA:TOFANA will embark on their first mini-tour through Switzerland and, judging by their latest Instagram post, it could also be their last...

Etoclit

Etoclit is a rap crew from Bern, consisting of five TINFA* people who perform in a wide variety of combinations. Between old school flows and hard 808s, they bring their thoughts, feelings and life experiences to the beat and remain energetic, questioning, thoughtful, provocative, determined, ugly, edgy, painful, searching, driving, bubbly, flowing.

Kumari

your local brown babe on the decks! From breaks to jersey club, dembow to garage, Kumari creates a truly original blend of rhythms. With a smooth fusion, every genre finds its groove in her sets, creating a vibe that is impossible to resist. Kumari is not only a DJ, but also organizes queer and BIPOC parties with her collective STFU and is known for her rap-singing duo Landjäger:innen.

Mânaa is a Swiss-Moroccan dj based in Zürich and member of the collective vous etes reus?
Active for more than 7 years on the Swiss underground and alternative scene, she invites to create spaces of freedom and culture out of the ordinary structures while creating a platform for sharing and exchange.
Through memory and history she likes to tell her story with the rhythm of percussions. Defining herself as a hybrid being she mixes and deconstructs styles and techniques of dj in order to bring them together again under her prism.

Originally the route was to start from the Chinese Pavilion and lead to the Japanese Tower, but as the latter is only open to the public in the spring, the route will lead to the Heysel Exhibition Center. A new map will be released when the Royal Gardens are open to the public.

The trance dance experience is characterized by the sounds of contemporary psychedelia and '90s tribalistic techno. Never-ending spiraling grooves are accompanied by dreamlike shamanistic chimes.

Passionate about the development and importance of a city's nightlife, Kuba '97 is heavily involved in Horst, nacht, Stelplaats and many more. Kuba '97 doesn't only hang around at parties and DJ booths; you can also find him behind the stove, cooking up non-musical goodness, and writing articles for Not So Difficult magazine.

DJ Rino

A true worshiper of house music blessed with a certain ravy and techno spirit, Dj Rino loves to pick out random records that most of us would probably leave in their dusty corners. Music is a main component in Rino’s life, whether he is listening or playing, it fills the silence, connecting him to the present moment and the people around him. Rino’s sets are long, joyful and filled to the brim with energy, breaking boundaries between categories and proving the interconnection between each and every electronic genre.

Eli Verveine is a DJ, live artist and producer at the height of her powers.
As a DJ, Eli Verveine is widely respected for her ability to build her own dancefloor
wherever she is in the world. Always engaged with the crowd, Eli sees communication
as integral to the art of DJing: whether it’s warm-up, peak-time or after-hours, she
captures the collective energy and applies just the right doses of drama and restraint
until every dancer is locked into a unified groove. Eli’s versatile blend of genres and
moods has brought her to some of the most iconic stages around, from the clubs
Bassiani, Panoramabar, Fabric and Closer to the festivals Garbicz, Rainbow Disco
Club, Waking Life, and delivering the prestigious closing set at Organik Festival in
Taiwan. She has a B2B project, Among Trees, with Andrey Pushkarev.

Veras timeless music selection, a subtle mixing style and her authentic, elegant appearance behind the
decks impressed clubbers and promoters all around the globe.
Constantly evolving and picking up impulses, she follows her intuition rather then trends and she keeps
surprising with unexpected sets, that have an unpretentious, female touch.
Veras media are her vinyls, that she’s choosing from a decent record collection. For her it’s all about the
story a dj is telling and the ambience being created, not about genres or playing one big tune after the
other. Each gig she prepares passionately, trying to imagine and select the right music for each place she's
visiting.
Her roots reach back to the golden age of techno and house - the early 90’s.
Over a decade of experience behind the decks turned her into a routined DJ, that is booked in numerous
places all over the world.
At the same time though, she’s still a insiders’ tip to many.
