Live performances are two-day micro-residencies in the venue, in order to prepare a performance adapted to the venue and in line with the proposed technology. Our aim is for each performance to be unique in terms of its relationship with sound, visuals and the space between audience and artist.

Les performances lives sont des accueils de micro-résidence de deux jours dans la salle, afin de pouvoir préparer une représentation adaptée à la salle et en lien avec la technologie proposée. Nous souhaitons, pour chacune de ses performances, qu’elle puisse offrir une singularité sur le rapport avec le sonore, le visuel ou entre public et artiste dans l’espace.

Live-Aufführungen entstehen jeweils im Rahmen von zweitägigen Mikroresidenzen am Veranstaltungsort. Ziel ist es, eine an den Raum und die angebotene Technologie angepasste Darbietung vorzubereiten. Jede Aufführung soll einzigartig sein, insbesondere in Bezug auf das Zusammenspiel von Klang, Bild und der Beziehung zwischen Publikum und Künstlerinnen bzw. Künstlern.

MAGNETIC BACH

The "Magnetic Bach" project offers a world of experiments in which baroque compositions magnetically blend with improvised electronic music. The project is led by baroque cellist Ilze Grudule, Vincent Flückiger on sampling and Fred Chappuis on the Moog synthesiser. Together, they take Bach's Cello Suites and combine them with electronic sounds. Gradually, an experimental and unconventional interpretation of the original work develops, breathing new life into it and revealing new facets.

The project has been presented in different forms and with different compositions throughout Europe. It has been invited to several classical music festivals.

Melanie Meystre est une artiste pluridisciplinaire originaire de Vevey, vivant et travaillant à Fribourg. Après avoir étudié les arts visuels à l’EDHEA (Bachelor Fine Arts), elle poursuit son cursus à la HKB (Master in Contemporary Art Practice), où elle concentre sa pratique artistique autour de la performance.

Attirée par la musique dès son enfance, elle choisit en 2022 d’intégrer sa pratique sonore autodidacte à sa pratique performative, et passe de l’espace virtuel de soundcloud, où elle partageait sa musique, pour donner son premier concert, sous le nom de kris mess.

kris mess c’est un désordre organisé, une rencontre éclectique d’influences électroniques, club, pop, entremêlées de sonorités et mélodies éthérées parfois brutales, porté par la volonté de brouiller les genres, comme moyen de troubler l’expérience de l’auditeur·ice·x.

Das Projekt "Magnetic Bach" eröffnet eine Welt vielseitiger Klangerfahrungen, in der barocke Kompositionen auf magnetische Weise mit improvisierter elektronischer Musik verwoben werden. Getragen wird das Ensemble von Ilze Grudule (Barockcello), Vincent Flückiger (Sampling) und Fred Chappuis (Moog-Synthesizer). Gemeinsam greifen sie die berühmten Cello-Suiten von Bach auf und kombinieren diese mit modernen elektronischen Klanglandschaften.

Im Laufe der Performance entsteht eine experimentelle, unkonventionelle Interpretation des Originalwerks, die der Musik neue Facetten und einen frischen Zeitbezug verleiht.

"Magnetic Bach" wurde in unterschiedlichen Formationen bei zahlreichen europäischen Festivals aufgeführt und war unter anderem zu verschiedenen Klassikfestivals eingeladen.
