Hans Unstern has set out to queer their mind, our mind and your mind. Such noble endevaous shall be well thought through so Hans took 7 Years, built their own specially designed, electro-acoustic harp and when finally done, birthed an epic album called DIVEN.
…And yet DIVEN sounds ahead of its time. On the album, contrasexual love songs mix with agitprop narratives from the underground workshop. Made for the big stage. Hans Unstern's lyrics oscillate between modern fairy tales and discursive booklets.
Maybe Hans Unstern wants to remind us with their self-made harp-instrumentation that the basic pillars of our society are much older than fiber-optic neoliberalism. Perhaps someone here simply wanted to free themselves from the cliché image of the singer/songwriter at the piano or guitar. Perhaps the multitude Unstern also simply found simply found the right instrument in the colorful catalog of cultural history via detours.
