Inuit Pagoda are sonic explorers from Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. They craft music that glides gracefully between jazz, krautrock, and ambient experimentation, while refusing any single definition. Founded in 2019 by guitarist-composer Emilio Vidal, saxophonist Nikola Jan Gross, and drummer Jonas Albrecht, the trio first distinguished themselves with a taste for progressive, repetitive structures and richly textured soundscapes.

From the beginning, Inuit Pagoda has blurred the boundaries between music, visual arts, and performance, incorporating graphic projections, mapping, and multidisciplinary collaborations. In 2022, the group joined the Creaked label and expanded into a quartet with Armelle Scholl (keyboards) and Marius Rivier (drums), enriching their palette with both organic instrumentation and electronic experimentation.

Today, Inuit Pagoda create immersive, vibrant music blending post-rock, ambient, noise, and jazz, inviting listeners into sound environments that are at once tangible and elusive, on stage as well as at festivals.

Inuit Pagoda sont des explorateur·ices sonores originaires de Bienne/Biel, en Suisse. Iels façonnent une musique qui glisse avec élégance entre le jazz, le krautrock et l’expérimentation ambient, tout en refusant toute définition unique. Fondé en 2019 par le guitariste-compositeur Emilio Vidal, le saxophoniste Nikola Jan Gross et le batteur Jonas Albrecht, le trio s’est d’abord distingué par un goût pour les structures progressives et répétitives ainsi que pour des paysages sonores richement texturés.

Dès ses débuts, Inuit Pagoda brouille les frontières entre musique, arts visuels et performance, en intégrant projections graphiques, mapping et collaborations multidisciplinaires. En 2022, le groupe rejoint le label Creaked et s’élargit en quatuor avec Armelle Scholl (claviers) et Marius Rivier (batterie), enrichissant sa palette entre instrumentation organique et expérimentations électroniques.

Aujourd’hui, Inuit Pagoda crée une musique immersive et vivante, mêlant post-rock, ambient, noise et jazz, qui invite l’auditeur·ice dans des environnements sonores à la fois tangibles et insaisissables, sur scène comme en festival.

Inuit Pagoda sind Klangforscher:innen aus Biel/Bienne, Schweiz. Sie gestalten Musik, die elegant zwischen Jazz, Krautrock und Ambient-Experimenten gleitet und sich jeder eindeutigen Definition entzieht. Gegründet 2019 von Gitarrist und Komponist Emilio Vidal, Saxophonist Nikola Jan Gross und Schlagzeuger Jonas Albrecht, zeichnete sich das Trio zunächst durch progressive, repetitive Strukturen und dicht texturierte Klanglandschaften aus.

Von Anfang an verwischte Inuit Pagoda die Grenzen zwischen Musik, bildender Kunst und Performance, indem sie grafische Projektionen, Mapping und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit einbezogen. 2022 trat die Band dem Label Creaked bei und erweiterte sich zum Quartett mit Armelle Scholl (Keyboards) und Marius Rivier (Schlagzeug), wodurch ihre Palette zwischen organischer Instrumentierung und elektronischen Experimenten noch breiter wurde.

Heute schaffen Inuit Pagoda immersive, lebendige Musik, die Post-Rock, Ambient, Noise und Jazz verbindet und das Publikum in Klangwelten eintauchen lässt, die zugleich greifbar und schwer fassbar sind – auf der Bühne wie bei Festivals.
