Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge is the musical vehicle of Niklas Wandt and Joshua Gottmanns. They released a single - Ich verliebe mich nie - in 2018 and an EP entitled Leben in 2019 on the Düsseldorf label Themes. For Great Cities. Now the time has come for the Berlin duo’s long-awaited debut album. The 7 tracks comprising Der große Preis distil the inimitable NB sound which blends velvety synth-pop and crystalline digi-dub, basslines like cubes of glass and whiplash snares. The album title certainly lives up to its name: The Grand Prize. This is adventure time, from wild romance to petty crime – it’s all waiting for you right here.Visit Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge's official website
Watch out, kids! MoreEats, Liechtenstein’s music magician of all trades, is coming to a stage very near you. What started off as this extremely talented, weird, curly-haired and bespectacled teenager from the Walser village of Triesenberg singing his antifolk oddities and accompanying himself on his ukulele, has long turned into something quite different and very unique that defies description. MoreEats has performed at many a big festival over the years, he has toured North America, collaborated with numerous international and internationally acclaimed artists and is now part and parcel of Zurich’s music and party culture, as a versatile DJ and as a captivating performer who has come a long way since his early ukulele days.
The music MoreEats has been creating in recent months is cheesy, yes, but in a very good, Dennis Wilson kind of way. Groovy, funky – those somewhat dated seventies adjectives come to mind when one hears MoreEats strangely timeless Soul music (is that what it is? Soul?). Tender, dreamy, creamy, and rich – the lush sexy sweetness never ends in these songs lovingly constructed from an abundance of thick layers of guitar, keyboards and silly sounds, using all sorts of black boxes and gizmos and lots of reverb. The result is extremely laid back, relaxed and positive, just like a day spent on a Caribbean beach with someone you love and who loves you back, getting a tan, sipping on long drinks with whacky names and doing whatever it is people do on beaches. MoreEats’ amazing musicianship and songwriting talent combine with a quirky humour which enables MoreEats to write fun, funnily schmaltzy and yet heartfelt lyrics with ease. “Stop kissing my lips, make out with my brain.” Yes, please!
