Les sons d’Ásgeir sentent bon l’Islande. Des étendues de terre aux collines verdoyantes, du sable noir aux icebergs translucides, le chanteur-compositeur met à l’honneur sa terre natale dans des morceaux sensibles en résonance avec la nature. De l’islandais à l’anglais, la voix transmet des émotions apaisantes et, le coeur léger, l’esprit peut voyager.

From wilderness to green hills, from black sand to translucent icebergs, the singer-songwriter honours his native land in sensitive songs that resonate with nature. Sam Himself (ch)
Sam Himself aime décrire son style de « Fondue Western », et c’est très bien trouvé. De Bâle, son canton d’origine, il s’est exporté à New York il y a dix ans pour développer sa personnalité artistique. Il crée alors un univers pop aux recoins ténébreux, porté par sa voix de baryton en mode crooner. Le tout glisse sur des rythmes lents mais prenants, complètement mélancoliques.

Sam Himself likes to describe his style as "Western Fondue", and it's very apt. From Basel, his home canton, he moved to New York ten years ago to develop his artistic personality. He then created a pop universe with dark corners, carried by his baritone voice in crooner mode. The whole thing slides on slow but catchy rhythms, completely melancholic.
