CULT OF LUNA (SE)
"The Raging River". La rivière déchainée. Titre du dernier album de Cult of Luna, c’est aussi une description idéale des sensations intenses ressenties à l’écoute des titres : 5 morceaux, 38 minutes 33 secondes, le tout formant un enchainement d’atmosphères nous projetant au fin fond de la Suède natale du groupe. Et puis la voix de Johannes Persson nous réveille. Une épopée mystérieuse et exaltante. Une noyade de laquelle on remonte.

"The Raging River". Title of Cult of Luna's last album, it's also an ideal description of the intense sensations felt when listening to the tracks: 5 tracks, 38 minutes 33 seconds, a whole sequence of atmospheres projecting us in the depths of the band's native Sweden. And then the voice of Johannes Persson wakes us up. A mysterious and exhilarating epic. A drowning from which one goes up.
ALCEST (FR)
Cataloguer Alcest dans un style reviendrait à mettre de côté de nombreuses facettes du groupe. Métal bien sûr, mais rock aussi, puis presque pop, avec des harmonies de voix et de guitare aussi douces qu’énergiques. "Protection", sorti en 3 versions en 2021, est la preuve implacable que Neige et Winterhalter savent trouver le renouveau partout. Au-delà des étiquettes, au-delà des mots, leurs morceaux résonnent et nous portent vers quelque chose de plus grand.

To classify Alcest in a style would mean to put aside many facets of the band. Metal of course, but also rock, then almost pop, with vocal and guitar harmonies as soft as energetic. "Protection", released in 3 versions in 2021, is the implacable proof that Neige and Winterhalter know how to find renewal everywhere. Beyond labels, beyond words, their songs resonate and carry us towards something bigger.
SVALBARD (UK)
Entre deux harmonies chantées par Serena Cherry, Svalbard dépeint dans ses titres des réalités parfois crues, parfois poignantes, sans jamais détourner le regard. Le single "Silent Restraint", sorti en 2021, présage du bon, si on se réfère à la cadence du groupe : 4 albums en 5 ans, le suivant ne devrait plus trop tarder.

Between two harmonies sung by Serena Cherry, Svalbard depicts in its tracks realities that are raw, sometimes poignant, without ever looking away. The single "Silent Restraint", released in 2021, bodes well for the future, if we refer to the band’s pace: 4 albums in 5 years, the next one should not be too far away.
