Jocelyn Raphanel weaves soundscapes between vibration and amplification. Known within Fribourg’s cultural scene for his installations and acoustic performances, he founded the Immersive Sound Festival in 2018.

His research into immersive music led him to develop an amplified practice of Nepalese singing bowls. This later expanded into an exploration of the sounds of Swiss bells, notably through a collaboration with the the Musée de la cloche in Romainmôtier. In the summer of 2021, he integrated them into a first live performance at the Belluard Bollwerk. Since then, he has regularly accompanied the Basel-based group Magnetic Bach, with whom he has performed on numerous occasions in the Baltic States between 2022 and 2024.

He will continue this journey accompanied by guitarist and sound designer Olivier Verleye, also known as One Owl Soul. The performance will be punctuated by texts written and read by Valentin Brüegger.
Based on the combined use of binaural frequencies, forest recordings, and benevolent harmonies, this work will take the form of an allegory of travel, guiding us to the limits of our altered states of consciousness, into the very heart of our inner sound.

Jocelyn Raphanel tisse des espaces sonores entre vibration et amplification. Connu du milieu culturel fribourgeois pour ses installations et performances acoustiques, il a fondé en 2018 l’Immersive Sound Festival.

Ses recherches sur les musiques immersives l’ont mené à développer une pratique amplifiée des bols chantants népalais. Celle-ci a trouvé son prolongement dans une étude des sonorités des cloches suisses, notamment dans le cadre d’une collaboration avec le Musée de la cloche de Romainmôtier. En été 2021, il les intègre dans un premier live au Belluard Bollwerk. Depuis, il accompagne régulièrement le groupe bâlois Magnetic Bach, avec qui il a notamment joué à de nombreuses reprises dans les pays baltes entre 2022 et 2024.

Il fera cette suite de voyage accompagné du guitariste et sound designer Olivier Verleye, dit One Owl Soul. Le tout sera ponctué de textes écrits et lus par Valentin Brüegger.
Basé sur l’utilisation conjointe de fréquences binaurales, d’enregistrements de forêts et d’harmonies bienveillantes, il s’agira d’une allégorie du voyage qui nous amènera vers les limites de nos états de conscience modifiés, au cœur de notre son intérieur.

Jocelyn Raphanel erschafft Klangräume zwischen Vibration und Verstärkung. Bekannt in der Freiburger Kulturszene für seine Installationen und akustischen Performances gründete er 2018 das Immersive Sound Festival.

Seine Forschungen zur immersiven Musik führten ihn dazu, eine verstärkte Praxis mit nepalesischen Klangschalen zu entwickeln. Diese fand ihre Fortsetzung in einer Auseinandersetzung mit den Klangwelten der Schweizer Glocken, insbesondere im Rahmen einer Zusammenarbeit mit dem Glockenmuseum in Romainmôtier. Im Sommer 2021 integrierte er sie in ein erstes Live-Set am Belluard Bollwerk. Seitdem begleitet er regelmäßig die Basler Gruppe Magnetic Bach, mit der er zwischen 2022 und 2024 mehrfach in den baltischen Staaten aufgetreten ist.

Diese Reise setzt er gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen und Sounddesigner Olivier Verleye, bekannt als One Owl Soul, fort. Begleitet wird das Ganze von Texten, die von Valentin Brüegger geschrieben und gelesen werden.
Basierend auf dem Zusammenspiel von binauralen Frequenzen, Waldaufnahmen und wohlwollenden Harmonien entsteht eine Allegorie des Reisens, die uns an die Grenzen veränderter Bewusstseinszustände führt – ins Herz unseres inneren Klangs
