Une musique organique, douce mais portée par de puissantes émotions ; voici ce que nous offre l’univers de Charlie Cunningham. À travers son dernier album, on retrouve le songwriter dans toute sa splendeur : alternance entre piano et guitare, inspirations flamenco, mélodies singulières, rythmiques justement dosées ; sa patte est tout de suite reconnaissable, et pourtant, on sent l’évolution vers quelque chose de plus pur encore, comme si l’artiste avait volontairement ajouté un soupçon de fragilité. Loin de la performance et du surfait, au plus proche de son humanité.

Charlie Cunningham's world is one of organic, gentle music, driven by powerful emotions. On his latest album, we find the songwriter in all his splendor: alternating piano and guitar, flamenco inspirations, singular melodies, precisely dosed rhythms; his touch is immediately recognizable, yet we sense an evolution towards something even purer, as if the artist had deliberately added a hint of fragility. Far from overdone performance, as close as possible to his humanity.

Au son chaud de sa guitare - souvent classique -, Lily Lyons ajoute la magie de sa voix : elle aussi chaude, mais surtout sensible et conteuse d’histoires. L’univers de Lily est d’une grande douceur, il nous emporte et nous réconforte. Comme entrée en matière dans cette soirée de folk et de songwriting, le concert de l’artiste anglaise tombera, pour sûr, à pic.
