Los Muñequitos de Matanzas (Cuba)

Join us for a celebration of Afro-Cuban culture!

«Los Muñequitos de Matanzas» come from a long tradition of rhythms, songs, and dances stemming from African heritage. Founded in 1952, this iconic group has maintained its status as one of the most important ensembles of Afro-Cuban folklore, spanning three generations of a family of musicians, singers and dancers from Matanzas.

There will be a dance workshop, meetings and a beautiful concert ranging from Guaguancó to Columbia, Yambú, Ritual Songs, and "Solar" dances.

Dance Workshop:
Rumba/Guaguancó with Diosdado Ramos (musical director and dancer «Los Muñequitos») and Jennyselt Galata (professor at the «Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba»)
