Captains Of The Imagination is Geneva’s leading anglophone Hip Hop group, a collective led by 3 vocalists: Imagine, Dr Koul & Evita Koné. Previously known for their funky boom-bap style with 5 releases under their belt as “C.O.T.I.”, they are reinventing themselves now with a more up-to-date esthetic and a 17-track album released on the 8th of May
The album carries the epic title of When The Moon Goes Around The Sun and is supported by vintage “Barbarella”-style artwork crafted by Atelier Graphique (who also directed their epic animated title track music video: https://bit.ly/WTMvideo ). It is a sonic adventure through different genres with beatmakers from London and Berlin and featuring various musical guests from classical music and jazz backgrounds such as Zacharie Ksyk.
Captains Of The Imagination's first single off this project comes through with a bang: in We Are ,the trio present their unique blend of styles on a smooth beat with a slick music video shot in Barcelona by French director Teto. The outro of the track has UK-based classical violinist Julian Azkoul playing a string arrangement that both compliments and offsets the electronic sounds in the instrumental. https://bit.ly/wearemusicvideo
The group sent their music video to rap legend Redman who was quick to show enthusiasm for their vibe, to the delight of Captains Of The Imagination and their fans, who see this as a long-deserved appreciation for their hard work and talent. Imagine is the founder of Captains Of The Imagination and the driving force behind the group, easily recognised by his steady flow and poetic turn of phrase. The group’s cerebral wordsmith Dr Koul has also been responsible for overseeing the new album’s orchestration, working closely with sound engineer OscioPak to sculpt its sonic universe. They would not be complete without their diva and audience favorite Evita Koné . Her charisma and vocal prowess add rhythm and soul with flavor and a pinch of wisdom where necessary.
Beyond their versatility, wide range of collaborations and subject matter, they have been making a name for themselves as live performers who can always be trusted to rock the house. Part of this has come from their experience as freestyle enthusiasts who run a local open mic night, but they credit their live show skills to having had the privilege of opening for Hip Hop legends such as Yasiin Bey , The Pharcyde , Onyx , Big Daddy Kane , Jeru The Damaja , The Beatnuts , Evidence & Alchemist – always getting the nod of approval for their professionalism and ability to hype up the crowd.

Un flow rapide et précis, des punchlines affutées et une énergie hors-pair : c’est le duo de Paps X Drisco. Deux MC’s agités, l’un originaire de Londres, l’autre de Paris, actifs depuis plusieurs années sur la scène genevoise. Du Hip Hop à la Drum’n’Bass, en passant par la Grime et la Trap, ces deux rappeurs sèment le carnage sur tous les fronts. Le dynamisme de ce binôme saura faire trembler la scène de l’Undertown !
